SEC Teams
Hurricane Isaias is eyeing Bryant-Denny Stadium, Shane Beamer is so cooked he confessed to an NCAA violation live on camera, and Mizzou's Eli Drinkwitz spent Tuesday in tears. Just another week in the SEC.
No. 25 Missouri just made No. 8 Florida "look fraudulent," a suspended Dylan Stewart watched Shane Beamer's job security crater in overtime, and Lane Kiffin is out here blaming the SEC schedule for his injury list. Happy Monday.
One week until SEC Media Days in Tampa, and the conference is already marinated in enough dysfunction to fuel a full season. Lane Kiffin hasn't even sat down at a podium yet and he's already the main character.
Steve Sarkisian would like you to know he is very sorry about the basket weaving thing, Alabama is quietly panicking about its recruiting class, and a teenager from Alexander City has the entire conference refreshing their phones until July 10.
Lane Kiffin told Vanity Fair that recruiting Black players to Oxford was harder than it will be in Baton Rouge. Trinidad Chambliss fired back on Friday at the Manning Passing Academy. Ole Miss Twitter has not calmed down since.
Lane Kiffin gave a four-hour interview to Vanity Fair, said the quiet part loud about recruiting to Oxford, apologized, and somehow made Ole Miss fans even angrier — all while Texas crashed the preseason All-SEC party with 16 picks and zero apologies.
Lane Kiffin gave a four-hour interview to Vanity Fair and somehow made every Ole Miss fan, every LSU fan, and the entire state of Mississippi feel some kind of way simultaneously. Welcome to June, when college football has no actual games but generates maximum chaos.
Ed Orgeron is back in Baton Rouge, the NAACP just put every major SEC school on blast, and apparently the conference that wrote the NIL rulebook is also the one most aggressively ignoring it. Happy 100 days to kickoff, everybody.
