SEC Teams
No. 25 Missouri just made No. 8 Florida "look fraudulent," a suspended Dylan Stewart watched Shane Beamer's job security crater in overtime, and Lane Kiffin is out here blaming the SEC schedule for his injury list. Happy Monday.
Lane Kiffin walked back into Oxford and immediately lost. Texas A&M dropped a 16.5-point home game to unranked Kentucky. Oklahoma survived New Mexico 14-6 while its own student section chanted 'Fire Arbuckle.' Week 3 delivered everything.
The SEC survived its own civil war with LSU, Arch Manning saved the Longhorns and maybe Steve Sarkisian's dignity, and Alabama spent a half reminding everyone that entropy is real. Normal stuff.
Jayden Daniels has lawyered up against his alma mater over a jersey number, LSU fans have officially moved on, and Kirby Smart is publicly humiliating his own staff. August is never boring in the SEC.
SEC Media Days ended Thursday. Lane Kiffin gave a 16-minute opening statement involving Hulk Hogan and mortality. Nick Saban told LSU fans to lower their expectations. Totally normal conference, everything is fine.
SEC Media Days 2026 arrived in Tampa and immediately went feral. Pete Golding weaponized Lane Kiffin against Lane Kiffin — at Kiffin's own press week. It only got weirder from there.
Tennessee's new Adidas 'Dark Mode' jerseys dropped this week and the fanbase decided they were actually good, which is both correct and suspicious. Meanwhile, Lane Kiffin's LSU honeymoon hit a speed bump when a five-star edge rusher who was literally tweeting Tiger love flipped to Miami hours later.
While normal people were watching fireworks and ignoring their families, the SEC spent the Fourth of July doing what it does best: spending obscene amounts of money on teenagers and saying unhinged things on the internet.
Steve Sarkisian got away with the basket-weaving comment scot-free, Lane Kiffin has already nuked his old employer on his way out the door, and somehow the SEC just shrugged and said "carry on." Ole Miss can't catch a break in the press or the recruiting rankings — and Media Days is still three weeks away.
Lane Kiffin lost a five-star, gained two replacements, hired a legend, and is somehow already promising national championships — and it's not even July. Also: Kentucky landed a top QB and the playoff expansion saga remains the sport's most boring soap opera.
Lane Kiffin gave a four-hour interview to Vanity Fair and somehow made every Ole Miss fan, every LSU fan, and the entire state of Mississippi feel some kind of way simultaneously. Welcome to June, when college football has no actual games but generates maximum chaos.
It is a Friday in mid-June, which in SEC football means nothing is happening and also everything is happening and nobody should be allowed near a microphone. Let us begin, as we must, with Lane Kiffin.
It is June in the SEC, which means the recruiting rankings websites are churning, Lane Kiffin is somehow generating new enemies, and Kentucky fans are dangerously close to believing again. God help us all.
Steve Sarkisian called Ole Miss an academic pushover, Lane Kiffin blamed their recruiting struggles on racial history, and Kirby Smart threatened to leave the NCAA. Archie Manning has had to enter the chat.
